Supported Living Services (SLS)
What is Supported Living Services (SLS)
BCSS Supported Living Services (SLS) provides comprehensive support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities seeking greater independence in their daily lives. SLS helps each person exercise meaningful choice and control over decisions such as where and with whom to live. The program is designed to foster lasting relationships, community membership, and progress toward personal goals.
Services are flexible and available for as long and as often as needed, adapting to each person’s changing needs rather than being limited by the level of disability. Typically, BCSS works alongside the individual to create and maintain a safe, stable, and independent home, while also encouraging some individuals to manage their own supports, maximizing personal autonomy.
